Mushroom Growkit Golden Teacher

GOLDEN TEACHER MUSHROOM GROW KIT - A GOLDEN EXPERIENCE IN 15 DAYS

The Psilocybe Cubensis Golden Teacher are mushrooms that grow big and thick, forming a golden hat that gives rise to its name. Being a highly appreciated shroom among experienced growers, the first crop they offer will be ready to cut after 15 days.

OPTIMAL CONDITIONS ENSURE GOOD RESULTS

Golden Teacher are easy to grow, as they develop well in 60-80% humidity, with temperatures of 23-25 ºC. Ensuring a stable temperature and humidity would improve the results. The first week is very important for the correct acclimatization of the cake and to start producing the first crop of mushrooms. You can expect yields up to 400 grams from a 1200ml grow kit.

As is typical of psilocybin mushrooms, the Golden Teachers take you on a journey from a euphoric feeling, through laughter, to a state of creative thought.

Short instructions for the growbox:

work in a clean environment, clean your hands before using the grow kit
take the enclosed bag out of the cardboard box
fill one to one and a half (approx. 0.2 to 0.3 L) glasses of water into the plastic bag (not in the box containing the cake). Do not use tap water, but still bottled water
place the plastic box with the substrate in the bag filled with water
only open the plastic box with the substrate (the cake) in the bag filled with water
keep the lid for additional flushes
spray the opened kit/cake lightly with a sprayer/water atomizer (use only still mineral water)
seal the plastic bag at the top end with two to three paper clips or adhesive tape so that the bag is tight and sufficient air humidity can develop
place the closed bag in a warm place. the optimum temperature is 23-25 degrees Celsius. The temperature must be constant
open the bag briefly once a day to let in fresh air
after about two weeks you will receive the first results

Content of the Golden Teacher:

1x Grow Box - This contains substrates with active mycelium (the cake).
1x Grow Bag - The grow bag has a micron filter to keep out contamination

You should have the following prepared:

Water sprayer - spraying is necessary for humidity level.
Still bottled water - for spraying
Clean environment - work meticulously clean to not give unwanted fungi and bacteria (microorganisms) a chance to contaminate

We recommend the use of:

Face mask
Disposable gloves (e.g. latex)
Hand sanitizer
Surface disinfectant spray
Thermometer
Heating mat (should the room temperature drop below 18°C)

How to prepare the room and yourself before you start

Lock any windows that may be open. Wind or drafts can bring in microorganisms that can contaminate the grow kit
Place the grow box, including the cake, out of the cardboard box onto a disinfected surface to prevent contamination
Work with clean hands and arms. We recommend sterile gloves and/or a good disinfectant for handling the kit. You should use a mouth guard to prevent the grow box and cake from coming in contact with your breath

Temperature

The ideal temperature is 24°C. Do not allow the temperature to drop below 18°C or rise above 26°. To keep the temperature safely above 18°C, you should resort to a heating mat.

Light

The magic mushroom grow kit needs light, only then will mushrooms grow. A few hours of fluorescent / artificial light or indirect sunlight a day is more than enough. Direct sunlight will kill the mushroom! Make absolutely sure that the sun does not shine directly on the grow box.

Humidity / Spraying

One day after you have started the process, start spraying. Remove the paper clip and open the grow bag. Avoid spraying directly on the cake, but spray each of the four sides of the grow bag once. So you spray once a day for a total of four sprays. The spraying process also inevitably introduces fresh oxygen into the grow bag. Re-seal the grow bag with the clamp immediately after spraying.

Mushrooms

Under optimal conditions, you can expect the first small mushrooms after 6 to 15 days. You are dealing with a natural product. Therefore, more precise information is not possible, sometimes it may take longer.

Flushes

The mushrooms grow in groups (flush), which can be small or large. You can get more than one flush out of a kit. However, the first two flushes are the largest. As more flushes grow, they will be smaller than the previous ones.

Harvest

Mushrooms are mature and should be harvested when the visible veil between the mushroom cap and stem has just been torn off. Harvesting should not occur much later. Use sterile gloves and/or disinfect your hands, wrists and arms. Harvest only the mature mushrooms and let the others continue to develop. You remove mushrooms from the cake by grasping the mushroom at the base with your thumb and forefinger and you slowly turn your hand until the mushroom comes off. Do not pull mushrooms out to prevent damage to the mycelium, this might result in the death of your grow!

Mushrooms that grow on the sides

Fungi grow where light falls and little penetration resistance prevails. Because light also falls on the sides of the cake, fungi can grow there as well. This is difficult to prevent. We tend to discourage darkening the sides of the grow box, as it has more negative effects than positive ones.

Further Flushs

For the next flush, fill up the granules with a small amount of still mineral water after harvesting, so that about 1cm of water accumulates on the bottom of the plastic box. Then close the plastic box with the lid and put it in the refrigerator for about 2 hours. Then carefully pour off the excess water and start again as described above. Normally, you should achieve 2-3 flushes. However, skilled growers will achieve significantly more.

The end of life of the Golden Teacher magic mushrooms - GrowKits

If after the second flush no more mushrooms sprout from the growkit after at least three weeks, or if the growkit turns green, red, gray or yellow, the growkit can be discarded. The color changes indicate that the kit has been contaminated with another fungus or bacteria. Please dispose of the grow kit directly in the garbage outside your home and do not just put it in the garbage can at home.
