Watermelon OG by Advanced Seeds is a 50/50 indica-sativa hybrid plant that reaches a bombastic THC content of 25%.

Plant type and cultivation

Watermelon OG is an OG Kush cross. For its production, an OG Kush elite clone was crossed with another indica/sativa strain called "Watermelon", which is extremely popular in the USA. This strain brings absolute fruitiness to Watermelon OG, plus the cross increases the yield. The plant grows medium sized, the internode distance is also average. In general, it tends to be more of a compact plant that is perfect for indoor growing with 12 - 16 plants per m2. Outdoors, it finishes flowering by the end of September to mid-October, so for very cool climates with short summers, it is only partially recommended for outdoor growing.

Yield and flowering time

The strain yields 500 to 600g per m2 indoors and up to 800g per plant outdoors. Waltermelon OG has a maximum flowering time of 60 days. Normally, it finishes a little earlier and thus manages to fully mature in 56 days and 8 weeks respectively. The buds of Waltermelon OG are sticky, very compact and contain only a few petals, which makes harvesting very easy.

Smell, taste and effect

These resin-covered buds give off a summery, fresh scent. The often somewhat earthy smell of Kush strains, including the OG Kush, remains here clearly in the background. Instead, the extremely fruity and sweet watermelon scent and flavor comes to the fore. Due to its high THC content, it has a very strong effect, which is, however, not flattening. Rather physically numbing, but not a total couch lock effect in combination with mental freshness, similar to how OG Kush also works.
