To breed Punch Drunk Ape, the breeders at Elev8 Seeds used two elite strains and crossed Purple Punch with Gorilla Glue #4. The result is an indica-leaning hybrid strain that delights growers with extremely high resin production and magnificent purple-colored flowers. Last but not least, Punch Drunk Ape's fantastic properties are rounded off by outstanding yield potential, which can result in a harvest of up to 600 grams per square meter when grown indoors.

 

The effect of Punch Drunk Ape starts slowly, but with a proud THC content of 28%, it definitely packs a punch. In line with its indica-dominant genetics, the high is characterized primarily by a pleasant body sensation that creeps into the tips of your toes and relaxes every single muscle fiber. These effects are accompanied by an excited state of mind, which allows you to indulge in particularly vivid daydreams and go through the day more or less stoned. Punch Drunk Ape is therefore the perfect choice for slowing down, but definitely not a knock-out strain.

 

The taste of Punch Drunk Ape is a balanced combination of the flavours of its two parent strains. The sweet and sour taste of grapes and blueberries, familiar from Purple Punch, meets the extensive terpene profile of Gorilla Glue #4, which offers an extraordinary blend of chocolate, coffee, and pine with a woody, sour finish. As a result, your palate is greeted by sweet and sour flavors when you smoke, followed by a spicy coffee note.

 

Growing this hybrid strain is suitable for both experienced and novice growers. These feminized seeds develop into robust plants that will adapt well to different growing conditions. The purple flowers, which, in addition to the high yield, are the heritage of Purple Punch, offer a great contrast to the thick layer of white trichomes. The plants have a normal to slightly below average stretch during the 8- to 9-week flowering phase, resulting in plants that are 70 to 100 cm high when grown indoors. Growers can look forward to a high yield potential and beautiful flowers that are dripping with resin. In optimal conditions, these beautiful purple buds can weigh up to 650 grams per square meter. Punch Drunk Ape is therefore an especially high-yielding strain that is also ideal for extractions because of its high resin content. If you decide to grow it outdoors, you can watch your plants grow over time into bushes up to 170 cm high, producing a lot of magnificent flowers. Here, too, the plants reward their growers with a handsome yield of up to 700 grams each. You can then harvest as early as late September to early October (northern hemisphere).
